From February 3 to 13, 2020, the Afghan National Association for Adult Education (ANAFAE), in collaboration with DVV International and the German Association for Adult Education, successfully organized Afghanistan’s first Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) Training of Trainers (ToT). This milestone event aimed to equip new trainers with the skills and methodologies necessary to foster entrepreneurship and business development across the country.
The intensive training was facilitated by two SIYB Master Trainers, I and Ameer Khan Ameer, and was monitored by Mr. Julius Mutio, an esteemed SIYB Master Trainer Developer from International Labor Organisation. This training marked a significant step in expanding the SIYB program in Afghanistan, ensuring that more entrepreneurs receive high-quality business training to start and sustain successful enterprises.
The Afghan National Association for Adult Education (ANAFAE) is a key organization dedicated to providing educational opportunities and vocational training across Afghanistan. Working in partnership with DVV International, ANAFAE plays a crucial role in supporting employment, entrepreneurship, and adult education programs.
As a partner organization of the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) SIYB program, ANAFAE actively contributes to empowering aspiring entrepreneurs by offering business training, career development programs, and professional capacity-building workshops. By promoting self-employment and small business development, ANAFAE helps create sustainable economic opportunities in Afghanistan, particularly for youth and marginalized communities.
This first SIYB ToT training is just the beginning of a broader mission to enhance business education, support job creation, and foster economic growth. Through initiatives like this, ANAFAE and its partners continue to strengthen Afghanistan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, equipping individuals with the skills they need to build resilient and successful businesses.
