As part of ongoing efforts to foster entrepreneurship in Afghanistan, the fifth batch of the Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) program was successfully conducted at X-pert International Training and Testing Center in Kabul. This training focused on both Generate Your Business Idea (GYB) and Start Your Business (SYB) methodologies, equipping aspiring entrepreneurs with the necessary knowledge and skills to develop and launch their businesses.
The program ran for a total of 64 hours, conducted over weekday afternoons, and was attended by 15 participants (12 men and 3 women). Unlike previous batches where materials were distributed for free, this time, the SIYB materials were sold to participants, reinforcing the commitment and investment of trainees in their entrepreneurial journey.
The training was led by Mohammad Akbar Mahmoody, an SIYB Master Trainer, with Zakia Samimi as the assisting trainer. Throughout the sessions, participants gained insights into business idea generation, feasibility assessment, and structured business planning, aligning with ILO’s globally recognized SIYB methodology.
This training plays a crucial role in supporting Afghanistan’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by empowering individuals with practical skills and knowledge. Many of the participants are now on their way to launching their businesses, contributing to the country’s economic resilience and job creation.
The success of this batch further strengthens the SIYB in Afghanistan, ensuring that more aspiring entrepreneurs across the country have access to high-quality, structured business training.
🚀 Stay tuned for future batches as we continue to expand entrepreneurship education in Afghanistan!
