I am excited to share my experience working with Ameer Khan Ameer and the team at the Afghan National Association for Adult Education (ANAFAE) during the Training of Trainers (ToT) seminar, which took place from April 14 to April 29, 2021. Our primary objective was to support potential master trainers and ensure the quality of the training sessions for the Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) program, ultimately reporting our findings to Mrs. Mafelile Molala Saidi of the International Labour Organization (ILO) for their licensing process.
The ToT seminar aimed to equip 26 participants with the necessary skills to train others in entrepreneurship, focusing on job creation and business development within Afghanistan. Led by Sayed Mohibullah Mohib and Mohammad Najim Frogh, along with co-trainers Mustafa Salem Ahmadzai and Shamsuddin Mohib, the training spanned across two weeks, where participants learned about various aspects of the SIYB program.
The Afghan National Association for Adult Education, established in 2005 with the support of DVV International, is dedicated to improving education for disadvantaged groups and promoting lifelong learning. Given Afghanistan's rapidly growing labor force, it's crucial to promote entrepreneurship to generate job opportunities. The SIYB program is designed to support this goal, providing valuable resources to small-scale entrepreneurs.
During the training, Ameer and I actively supported the master trainers, monitoring the quality of the sessions and ensuring participants were equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills. One of the highlights of the training was the collaborative environment that fostered learning and personal growth among the participants.
As we progressed through the course, we observed the participants engage with the SIYB content enthusiastically. They tackled various topics, including marketing strategies, training needs analysis, and effective implementation of business development services.
At the end of the seminar, we compiled our observations and feedback, which were shared with Mrs. Mafelile Molala Saidi. Our report included insights on the participants' progress and recommendations for future training sessions to enhance their effectiveness as SIYB trainers.
The experience was both rewarding and enlightening. I am grateful to have been part of a project that empowers individuals and supports economic development in Afghanistan. A special thanks to Ameer and all the trainers and participants who made this seminar a success. Together, we are building a brighter future for entrepreneurs in Afghanistan!
